Resting Respiratory Rate Tracker
Count how many breaths your dog or cat takes while they are fast asleep or fully at rest. It is the single most useful number you can track at home for a heart, and a steady rise is often the earliest warning sign. A wellbeing check, not a diagnosis, and never a replacement for your vet.
For the most reliable number, measure while your pet is properly asleep or lying completely still, not just relaxed. One breath is one full rise and fall of the chest.
Watch your sleeping pet and tap the button each time they breathe in. The 30-second timer starts on your first tap.
How was your pet?
A truly asleep rate is the most reliable. An awake-but-resting rate runs a touch higher, which we allow for.
