We collect information you provide when creating an account (email, display name), your pet's health data, and community interactions. We also collect standard analytics data to improve the service.
Your data is used to provide the PetsLikeMine service: matching you with similar pet owners, displaying community content, and personalising your experience. We never sell your personal data.
Your pet’s health records — check-ins, weights, tracker readings, vet summaries — are private to you and anyone you have invited to help care for that pet. We never publish them.
Posts you write in the community are different. They are readable by anyone, including people without an account and search engines, so that an owner searching at midnight can find the answer you gave. You can keep any individual post out of that by turning off “visible to everyone” on it, and posts in our end-of-life and memorial spaces are never made public, whatever the setting.
Questions you send to our vets are private. If you tick the box asking us to, we may publish an anonymised version of the answer in our guides — with your name, your pet’s name and any identifying details removed, and only after a vet has reviewed it. Without that tick it stays between you and us, and you can ask us to unpublish it at any time.
Your data is stored securely using encryption at rest and in transit. Pet health data is stored in our EU-hosted database infrastructure.
You can export your data, request deletion, and manage your privacy preferences at any time from Settings > Your Data. We comply with GDPR and UK data protection regulations.
PetsLikeMine is intended for adult users aged 18 and over. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18. If you believe a child has provided us with their data, please contact us at the address below and we will delete it.
