Hello from Claire, one of the vets behind PetsLikeMine

Hi everyone, I am Claire, one of the vets behind PetsLikeMine. I am BVM&S MRCVS, a member of the Association of British Veterinary Acupuncturists, and certified in pain management through the WSAVA, so keeping animals comfortable is where a lot of my heart is. I have spent years watching owners leave the consult room with a diagnosis and a head full of questions, and not enough calm, honest places to turn afterwards. That is what we are trying to build here: a community where you are never the only one going through it. On the personal side, at home I have Chester, my nine-year-old German Shepherd cross Chihuahua (yes, really) and a former street dog. He came to me with a long back, short legs, and a real talent for putting on weight, which makes him a walking advert for two things we talk about a lot here: protecting a long back from disc trouble, and keeping a food-motivated dog at a healthy weight. He gets the odd bout of back pain, so day to day I manage him exactly the way I would coach any owner to. He is a big part of why I understand the worry from the owner's side of the table too, not just the vet's. I will be around the community reading along.
